Hildegard of Bingen Pilgrimage Trail

The fascination with the life and work of Hildegard of Bingen

The Hildegard von Bingen Pilgrimage Trail connects nature experiences, cultural history, and multi-day hiking along the Nahe River. Spanning approximately 135 kilometers, the trail leads through the 'Land of Hildegard' from Idar-Oberstein via Bad Sobernheim and Sponheim to Bingen am Rhein.

The abbess, poet, theologian, naturalist, and healer lived her entire life by the Nahe. Along the route, you will encounter important life stations. Not far from Bad Sobernheim is the Disibodenberg Monastery Ruins, where the saint spent the first 40 years of her significant life. Information stations, historical sites, and impressive landscapes make the trail a special tour for all who wish to hike multi-day, pilgrimage, or discover the history of Hildegard von Bingen.

The pilgrimage trail combines movement, nature, and cultural discoveries, stage by stage through one of the most exciting cultural landscapes along the Nahe.
