Trekking Camps in Soonwald - Adventure Soonwaldsteig -
Camp Alteburg: Camping under the Alteburg Tower. On a former charcoal burner site, you can sleep well shaded in the middle of a spruce and beech forest.
Even Schinderhannes appreciated the tranquility in the wild vastness of Soonwald. In the secluded forests, where only nature provides the soundscape, one can find oneself and recharge for everyday life.
Three trekking camps in the middle of Soonwald now make legal camping in the forest possible. Whether hikers on the Soonwaldsteig or the whole family - everyone is welcome at the sites who wants to experience nature up close and appreciates it. Following the principle: “Leave nothing but your footprints and take nothing but your impressions,” the camps have been designed to be close to nature. Equipped with only six camping spots, a fire pit, and a compost toilet, they offer everything for a small adventure. Noise is taboo - the focus is on relaxation in silence. Although roads are nearby, you cannot reach the sites by car. It’s time to strap on your backpack - and walk.
The overnight stay at the trekking sites costs 15 euros per tent/night (1-3 persons) and at the yurt/group tent site 20 euros/night (4-10 persons). Each trekking camp has 5 tent sites (approx. 3 x 2 m) and 1 yurt tent site (10 x 10 m) available. If you wish to use the entire site alone, the whole site must be booked for 95 euros per night (a total of 6 spots). You can only stay one night at a site and must then move on. After booking, you will receive an email with directions to the booked site.
