For those who still want to experience the big city, cities like Mainz (Mainz Cathedral and Gutenberg Museum), Wiesbaden (Biebrich Palace and Neroberg with Nerobergbahn), Trier (Porta Nigra and Trier Cathedral) or Koblenz (Deutsches Eck and Ehrenbreitstein) can be reached in about an hour's drive.
