Dream Loop Karrenberg

Those arriving by car should drive to the parking lot of the Landhotel Karrenberg and start the trail there.

From the parking lot, the tour leads for a short time through a dense forest area. Afterwards, the path runs along the forest to a magnificent viewpoint overlooking the valley and the nearby village of Dillendorf. A first sensory bench invites you to linger here. From the viewpoint, the path descends via a wide forest path into the peaceful Trübenbachtal before it continues steeply uphill for a short time along a narrow, winding path.
Next, the trail descends moderately along a forest path into the picturesque Kyrbachtal. After 200 meters, you can either continue along the forest path and walk along the Kyrbach or turn right into the forest. Those who choose the second option will be rewarded after a short climb of stairs with a beautiful resting place featuring a large seating area and sensory bench, as well as a magnificent view of the railway viaduct built in 1908 near Nieder Kostenz. This is definitely something you shouldn't miss. After the descent, the path runs for about 800 meters through the idyllic Kyrbachtal.

Via a narrow meadow path, the circular hiking trail then leads slightly uphill for a short time through a secluded forest area with numerous resting opportunities.

Shortly thereafter, it goes along a narrow path through a fairytale beech forest to the edge of the forest. Upon arrival, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the town of Kirchberg.

The last 1.5 kilometers of the tour lead back to the starting point of the hike along a gently sloping forest and field path.

At many points along the premium circular hiking trail, thematic panels are dedicated to regional history and the local flora and fauna. In addition, numerous resting and relaxation areas are spread throughout the entire route, inviting you to linger.

The dream loops have some steep, difficult, and slippery sections in rainy or winter weather. Therefore, sure-footedness and good physical condition are essential prerequisites for hiking these premium circular trails.

Sturdy footwear (hiking shoes) is strongly recommended.

Narrow alleys, idyllic corners, and romantic half-timbered houses still shape the medieval character of the town of Kirchberg today. Special interest is given to the marketplace and the historic houses in its vicinity. The houses surrounding the square date back to the 17th and 18th centuries. The ensemble of this rectangular square layout between the main street and the town hall is considered a significant example of baroque square design in rural areas. The buildings on the north side are coordinated with the dominant town hall. The majority of the houses are half-timbered, some plastered, some exposed again.
