Once again, Mandel participates in the Day of Open Monuments. This time, the village association has put together a program in collaboration with village historian Karin Vesper-Stumm:
3 TO 4:30 PM GUIDED TOUR THROUGH MANDEL ON THE TOPIC OF INFRASTRUCTURE
At 3 PM, village historian Karin Vesper-Stumm will take her guests on a guided tour through Mandel, where some buildings of the historical village educational path “Cultural Tour Koppensteiner Castle” and other locations will be presented in terms of their infrastructural significance and function.
The tour offers interesting insights into village life of past times. Basic village infrastructure such as water supply from the spring, the community wells, and private wells will be presented, as well as the former educational institutions school and kindergarten.
Essential for village life was also the essential village craft and the inns as social meeting points. Places of former power and administrative structures illustrate the political conditions of earlier times. The tour concludes with a presentation of the “Gasthaus zur Linde” and a drink at this last station. Meeting point: Koppensteiner Castle between 2:30 and 3:00 PM in the courtyard. Duration approx. 90 minutes.
Everyone is warmly invited! We look forward to many visitors!
