Erwin Pelzig
When people wake up in the morning and have to think about which crisis will be the most important today, it does not come without consequences. Social psychologists now attest to us a "change fatigue." In the new stage program by Frank-Markus Barwasser, his alter ego Erwin Pelzig therefore explores the question of what the much-discussed "change fatigue" does to us: who we become in a time of fundamental changes. Humans have never liked such changes; they always meant danger, risk, and uncertainty. During such times, realism, reason, and calmness rarely thrived, and it was always the hour of doomsayers and apocalyptic thinkers who successfully exploited the fears and longings of frightened people. But merely describing and lamenting the problems is not an option for someone like Pelzig. Therefore, he - as always accompanied by his two friends Hartmut and Dr. Göbel - seeks another way to deal with the crazy world. This leads him not least into the well-explored realm of brain research, into the uncharted expanses of the universe, and into the thought world of knowledgeable stoic philosophers. Erwin Pelzig: "Sometimes you might think you only have the choice to go crazy or become religious. I tried both. I can't recommend either." Frank-Markus Barwasser has been performing with his character on Germany's theater stages for over 30 years. The Süddeutsche Zeitung wrote: "The voice of the blustering stoic, the combative empath, the down-to-earth reasonable person, who still doesn't know everything better, the normal one, who knows that he is crazy in his own way." Recently, Barwasser produced the nine-part series "Beim Pelzig auf der Bank" for 3SAT.
