The piano quintet holds a special place among chamber music ensembles: the encounter of two full-fledged sound bodies – the piano with its orchestral potential and the string quartet with its colorful harmony. The great art lies in the genuine dialogue on equal footing, where neither dominance nor subordination prevails.
Our program reveals two characteristic sound worlds: Dvořák represents earthy, rhythmically pulsating color, Bohemian vitality, and melodic richness – Fauré embodies that floating French light that makes the sound permeable and allows it to shimmer in the finest nuances.
This evening gains a special dimension through its lineup: instructors and participants of the Mattheiser Summer Academy meet not in class, but on stage – as equal partners. Experience Meesun Hong Coleman (Violin), William Coleman (Viola), Daria Tudor (Piano), Mateusz Duda (Piano), Maria Tio (Violin 2), and Jan Sekaci (Cello).
Thus, “Color and Light” as the conclusion of the Mattheiser Autumn Concerts 2026 becomes an evening full of sound colors, energy, and radiant nuances
