The Disibodenberg Monastery is inevitably associated with Hildegard of Bingen. However, the mountain was already shaped by a vibrant monastic life of various communities from the 7th century to the 16th century. The special tour provides insight into the fascinating history of the mountain and its inhabitants: from the beginnings with Disibod and the Irish-Scottish monasticism, through canons, Benedictines, and to the last monastic community, the Cistercians. What was their everyday life like, shaped by rules of various kinds? What connects and distinguishes the different communities? And above all: where have they left their marks on Disibodenberg?
