Slaughter Festival

The Möhnenverein Mittelstrimmig, with its approximately 70 members, is one of the smaller associations of the Strimmiger Berg. However, since the members consist only of Möhnen (i.e., women), the number of members is quite remarkable. The club also represents every age group, from the youngest member at 25 years old to the oldest member at 86 years old. The first Slaughter Festival took place in 2009 and has received good support from the beginning. All ingredients are regional and are lovingly prepared in-house at the community center. The pork knuckle platter with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes is very popular. The classics also include the slaughter platter with bratwurst, liver dumplings, well meat, blood sausage, and liver sausage. Of course, draft beer and wheat beer go perfectly with the hearty food, but Aperol Spritz, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages must not be missing either. This year, the Slaughter Festival will take place on October 16, 2026, starting at 6:00 PM at the community center in Mittelstrimmig.
