The Wildenburg Tower at the Wildfreigehege Wildenburg and the surrounding area are currently closed.
An expert report concludes that the stability of the tower on the rock could be at risk. The National Park Authority has set up a barrier around the tower area and a detour for the Saar-Hunsrück Trail.
A new route for the Saar-Hunsrück Trail has been established and safely guides hikers around the closed area.
The National Park Authority is working to provide clarity on the Wildenburg Tower as soon as possible. The goal remains to preserve the tower and make it accessible again as soon as it is clear what measures are necessary and responsible.
