The Peterchesmühle
After the Basselscheider Bauernmühle, we arrive at the Peterchesmühle ten minutes later, which was also referred to as Linke and even earlier as Werdingsmühle after its owners.
In 1750, the family Peter and Margarethe Werding is mentioned in the church book of the parish of Gondershausen. The last miller was Karl Link, who brought a Mosel girl to the lonely mill as his wife in the 1930s. This is noteworthy because in the past, the relationships between Mosel and Hunsrück were not very good. Even today, one can occasionally hear from “seasoned Mosel residents” that they would rather endure three to four floods a year than spend even a single day living in Hunsrück.
