Schloss Allenbach is, alongside Burg Eltz and Schloss Gemünden, the only inhabited castle from the Middle Ages in the Hunsrück region. Today, it is a protected monument.

They were supplied with ores from the Hosenbachtal near Fischbach and smelted for both the Counts of Sponheim and the Rhine and Wild Counts.

While walking through Allenbach, you can learn more about the history of the place from additional information boards!
