Besembenner Roundabout

At the entrance to Gondershausen, you will see the landmark in the roundabout, three broomsticks (made of steel) reaching into the air. They point to the old tradition of the "Gonderscher Besembenner". Not far from the roundabout, there has been a wooden broom maker monument since April 2012. The people in Obergondershausen earned part of their income by making brooms - and thus the nickname "Gonderscher Besembenner" soon arose. They produce "natural brooms" - made from twigs of birch trees, with handles made of hazel wood.
