Bismarck Tower Sargenroth

Monument and observation tower near Sargenroth

Following a call from the German student body after the death of Otto Eduard Leopold von Bismarck in 1898, the construction of monuments in memory of the Chancellor began throughout Germany. The 17.50-meter-high Sargenrother Tower was built according to plans by the Dresden architect Wilhelm Kreis from Soonwald quartzite, featuring two outdoor staircases and a platform. From there, the viewer enjoys a beautiful view over the entire Hunsrück landscape.
