The castle was built in 1285 by Knight Bossel von Stein. Having been destroyed several times and used as a quarry after 1804, not much remains of the castle. The 20-meter-high keep is still standing, offering a magnificent view. The castle provides a charming setting for events of all kinds on the castle plateau, from wedding celebrations and private parties to the Castle Summer with its events. Weddings can be conducted in the castle cellar.
