Chapel on the Ehrerheide

The chapel, dedicated to the Mother of God, was built by Philipp Kapellen. His granddaughter Petra Hehn lives next door and lovingly takes care of this small house of worship. The grandfather expressed his gratitude for the safe return of everyone from the war by building the chapel for the Mother of God. The chapel was built between 1953 and 1954 and was ceremoniously consecrated with a large celebration on May 31.
Some of the figures, including the Mother of God and the chalice, were donated by various individuals.
Once a year, usually at the end of May, a saint is celebrated in this chapel.
On May 1, the pilgrims of the parish of Emmelshausen pray here on their way to Bornhofen.
