DREAM LOOP Greimerather Höhenweg

Dream loop on the Saar-Hunsrück trail

The 13.3 km long Greimerather Höhenweg is the first cross-state dream loop between mountains in Saarland and Greimerath in the Rhineland-Palatinate Hunsrück.
The path impresses with a coherent composition of diverse forest areas and small-scale fields, interspersed with natural streams and beautiful views of the 1,100-inhabitant Hochwald community of Greimerath. The nature reserve Ochsenwiese and the Lourdes Grotto on the outskirts are highlights of this premium path. It leads mostly on narrow paths through the typical, dense forests of the Hochwald. At the end of the tour, a detour to the fully renovated St. Nikolaus parish church from 2009 is worthwhile, which is open to visitors daily.
