Dream Loop LandTimeTour

The combination of nature, sculptures, and information boards, as well as the romantic ruins of Baldenau Castle – a film set in the home epic by Edgar Reitz in 1982/83 – makes this tour simply unique. Particularly noteworthy is the Arnica Loop in the source moor of the upper Dhron Valley. A geocache (modern treasure hunt) is also set up here. The path, which partly leads over footpaths and boardwalks as well as wooden bridges, provides a high level of landscape experience. Important stages of landscape history from Roman times through the Middle Ages to the time of Elector Balduin of Luxembourg and up to the present are outlined through display boards and ring books. The focus is on the development of ecologically valuable biotopes through agricultural practices and their preservation for the future. The tour can also be understood as a journey through time. A A unique feature is the life-sized wooden figures along the themed path, designed by wood artist Jonas Herrmann from Allenbach and crafted with a chainsaw, symbolizing important activities of certain professions for landscape development. The path has been certified by the German Hiking Institute with 70 experience points.
