Dream loop "Schillinger Panoramaweg"

In the interplay of narrow paths and wide roads, the dream loop leads through seemingly untouched forests as well as expansive meadows and fields. Nestled in a large valley floor between the Black Forest high forest and the wooded source area of the Ruwer, the path circles the municipality of Schillingen and offers wonderful distant views of the forests of the Hunsrück. 

Nomen est omen with this new panorama path. Starting from the recreational facility at the edge of the forest in Schillingen, the path leads around the town with a population of 1,300 and repeatedly offers magnificent views of Schillingen and the two highest ridges of the high forest - the Black Forest high forest with its highest elevation, the Teufelskopf, and the Osburger high forest with the prominent Rösterkopf. A constant change between paths over open fields and roads through primeval forests and along various streams characterizes the path. The Schillinger Waldweiher, the Fatimakapelle, and the Kell reservoir are further highlights on this path, which impressively reveals the natural beauties of the high forest to the hiker.
The 16 km long path can be walked year-round, considering possible restrictions due to force majeure, such as ice, snow, or storm damage. Due to its length and the predominant path character, the path is classified as moderately difficult. With breaks, one should plan 5-6 hours for the complete traversal of the path.
