Evangelical Church Mörschbach
Verifiably one of the oldest church towers in Rhineland-Palatinate
In the year 1006, the "Noble Thiderich of Mergesbach" completed the construction of a church on his estate. One of the most significant men of the realm at that time, the powerful Archbishop Williges of Mainz, traveled to consecrate the new house of worship. The church is verifiably the oldest sacred building in the Hunsrück, and the towering Gothic bell tower that dominates the nave was likely built in 1373.
