Freibad Argenschwang

Sometimes good things come from, let's say, a whim.
The swimming pool in Argenschwang, for example, owes its existence to a decree from the then district administrator in 1938, which stated that several swimming pools should be built in the district. Argenschwang was one of them.
The suitable site was quickly found with the so-called "Bachwies", so that the swimming pool could be completed by late autumn 1939.
Due to the turmoil of war, however, swimming operations could only be resumed in 1950.

The swimming operations quickly gained momentum, and the Argenschwang swimming pool became a popular meeting place for young and old. Unfortunately, operations had to be suspended again because legal requirements mandated the construction of a circulation system and a changing house. This could only be achieved with significant financial effort, and the pool was reopened at the beginning of the 1972 season after the necessary renovations.
In the 1980s, a major renovation of the pool was necessary, and once again the community had to dig deep into its pockets to maintain the swimming pool.

This was the birth of the swimming pool support association (December 14, 1989), which has made it its mission to support the swimming pool in every way possible. Since its founding, the dedicated association has made the swimming pool more technically and visually appealing and ensured that visitors have fun and comfort with every visit.
For example, a solar heating system, a new enclosure, and numerous other items were acquired.
The community spirit in the swimming pool support association and the support group from 1947 have preserved the swimming pool for the town to this day.
