This year it is "Winnetou III". Come to the Wild West in Mörschied (near Idar-Oberstein) and experience breathtaking riding scenes, pyrotechnic special effects, and lots of fun with 40 performers and about 15 horses. Wireless microphones and a 1000-watt sound system guarantee excellent acoustics in each of the 1000 seats. There is a short break of 20 minutes during the 2 ½ hour performance. And if you want to stand on the stage where Winnetou just rode, you can do so during a stage tour that takes place only on Sundays after the performance.
This time our story begins in the border area of the Rio Pecos and the Canadian River. The Sioux, led by their revenge-thirsty chief Ko-Itse, have left their hunting grounds to ally with the murderer of Winnetou's father and sister. A train near Echo Canyon is ambushed. Until then, peace reigned among the residents of Helldorf Settlement. To destroy this peace, Santer, together with the Sioux, attacks this small settlement to raze it to the ground. But help comes too late. The villagers of Helldorf Settlement are overwhelmed by the Sioux and taken captive to Hancock Mountain. Winnetou sets off immediately with his white brother Old Shatterhand when they learn of the attack on Helldorf Settlement to save the villagers of the small settlement from the stake.
But they soon find out how a showdown for the captured settlers at Hancock Mountain comes about…
