Gödenrother Gardens
A showcase and teaching garden with a special mission
With herbs, perennials, shrubs, and a...
The centerpiece of the Gödenrother Gardens is the medicinal plant garden (Hortus). Here, 200 plant species are arranged in 16 raised beds. They are divided into thematic beds such as heart/circulation, liver/gallbladder, poisonous plants, and women's medicinal plants. Other areas of the Gödenrother Gardens include a permaculture bed, a steppe bed, a fragrance bed, various perennial beds, ponds, and a large natural garden area with bird-nourishing shrubs, fruit trees, a bee sand bed, and a stage. Various seating options invite visitors to linger and enjoy the plantings and the animal inhabitants or visitors of the gardens.
Traditional knowledge about nature is increasingly disappearing. Whether it is species knowledge, medicinal knowledge, or understanding natural processes and responsibility in dealing with natural resources. Sustainable living is becoming increasingly important for our society.
The Gödenrother Gardens create a basis for exchange and networking among plant-interested people. You can explore the gardens yourself, participate in a guided tour, or experience them at various events. Individual or group tours can be booked individually.
