Our family has been active as agate grinders since 1603 and as goldsmiths and jewelry makers since 1750 in Idar-Oberstein.
We have been engaged in the art of goldsmithing and the processing of jewelry and precious stones for more than 10 generations.
The Goldsmith Stein was re-established over 60 years ago by my father, master goldsmith Herbert Stein, as the company of his ancestors was destroyed in World War II.

My wife and I are both master goldsmiths and experts with many years of experience. My wife is a state-certified jewelry designer and has won the German Gemstone and Jewelry Award multiple times. I am a gemstone and diamond expert and have completed the relevant courses at the “German Gemmological Institute.” Thus, we can provide you with comprehensive and in-depth advice at any time. In a cozy atmosphere, our customers enjoy professional and friendly advice without time pressure.

Our shop is located in the heart of Idar-Oberstein, in the old town of Oberstein, below the world-famous Felsenkirche, directly at the idyllic marketplace of Oberstein.
