Golfing in a Dreamlike Setting
Everything is perfect here: scenic beauty, a golf course that is counted among the 50 most beautiful places in Germany, a family-friendly atmosphere, and a touristically attractive environment. The golf course: Holes 7 and 13 offer a view of the Rotenfels - the highest sheer cliff in Central Europe. Treacherous slopes, bending, relatively long fairways (about 5.8 km), hundreds of beech and oak trees, and the view of the Rotenfels cliff – all of this makes “Drei Buchen” unique. The lovingly designed, nature-oriented layout with ponds, biotopes, artworks, and dry stone walls contributes significantly to this uniqueness. In the pioneering phase, golfers had to gather stones before the season began.
In 1971, only 25 women and men set out to establish a golf course. In the meantime, the number of members has risen to nearly 900, and they too are now facing the challenges of demographic change. After the opening in 1974, the course was gradually expanded to an 18-hole standard. For years, the “Drei Buchen” course has been among the top 50 golf facilities in Germany where national competitions take place. The club also enjoyed sporting success. The men's team made it to the 1st Bundesliga, became German team champions in 1993, and participated in the European Championship in the same year. Guests are welcome without a handicap limit. On weekends and public holidays, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, advance tee time reservations are required. Only 3-4 player flights are formed. The golf course features a restaurant with a beautiful terrace.
