The Hundheim Grill Hut “Bassinghett” was built in 2003 by the Hundheim community association under the direction of the Heimatverein Hundheim 2000 e.V.
The facility is nestled in a wooded area with various deciduous trees and consists of a heated recreational building with space for approximately 40-50 people indoors, and a generously designed, covered outdoor pavilion with a large grill grate as an outdoor grilling area. The grill hut is equipped with a kitchen, stove, and oven, a bar with a tap system, and 2 large refrigerators. Chairs, benches, tables, high tables, and sun umbrellas are available. There are separate ladies' and men's restrooms, both with shower facilities. The adjacent meadow area (with insect hotel) offers ample space for games and camping.
Approximately 25 parking spaces are available in the immediate vicinity; if additional space is needed, the parking lot at the sports field can be used. In an idyllic wooded area directly behind the grill hut, the Heimatverein Hundheim established a barefoot path in 2014 – designed as a circular path, approximately 90 m long. The individual sections are filled with various materials: wood in different variations, grass, various stones, slate plates, and much more. This natural gem is a “path for all senses” and can be walked and enjoyed with or without shoes.
