The nature lover and globetrotter Georg Haack established a nature reserve at this location, called "Haack's Köppche," in the community forest of Morshausen in the 1920s, expressing his admiration for the heath poet Hermann Löns, who wanted to create such a nature reserve in the Harz Mountains himself. The park was created with great effort and support from the local population and was ceremoniously inaugurated in June 1929. Haack also lived there. However, in the following years, the maintenance of the park was lacking, leading to its rapid decline and being overgrown by nature. Today, nothing remains of the "Hermann-Löns-Park" except for a few remnants of walls. Later, Georg Haack acquired the Neumühle, which was located a bit above the Gastemühle at Bayach. It fell victim to a fire on October 23, 1979, and only a few wall remnants still remind us of it.
