Heimatmuseum "Krone"

In the town center, where Kastellauner Straße and Kirchberger Straße meet, stands...

In 1986, the municipality acquired the old property and had it restored. The museum "Haus Krone", which opened in 1991, is not a traditional local museum, but presents itself to visitors as a museum of rural everyday culture. The living spaces are furnished with old furniture and household items from past times. Over 250 square meters of exhibition space (spread over 3 floors) allow visitors to experience life in the Hunsrück region in the past.
On the ground floor, there is a living room with original furniture from around 1890 - 1920 and a beautiful Cologne stucco ceiling from the late 18th century. On the upper floor, there is a bedroom and a kitchen with original furnishings from the first half of the 20th century, as well as an extensive community archive. The rooms in the attic are dedicated to agriculture and old professions. Many tools and equipment from the 19th and 20th centuries can be seen, as well as a fully equipped "spinning and weaving room".
