In the newly designed Hochwaldmuseum Hermeskeil, established in 2003, you can experience the life and work of your ancestors in a vivid way. A museum of a special kind has emerged here: informative, entertaining, diverse, and aesthetically designed. The exhibits provide insights into the history of the Hochwald, but the Hochwaldmuseum is not a local history museum in the usual sense: the diverse, often changing projection of the world of our ancestors opens a window into the history of the entire Hochwald - naturally in a mosaic-like manner. You will experience the past through real-life reenactments, fictional conversation situations, information banners, and by delving into interesting topics in image and sound. In 2005, the Hochwaldmuseum was awarded the first museum prize of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate for its exemplary presentation of the history of the Hochwald.
