Johanniskapelle

The high altar in the style of Louis XVI, featuring the statue of John the Baptist, originates from the Johanniskapelle in Corray near Zell, which was closed in 1790 under French rule and later auctioned off. On the altar, there is a statue of Saint Catherine and Saint Barbara. Also noteworthy are the two Madonnas, each with a child, and a figure of Saint Joseph. To this day, two very old bells have been preserved, one from the 14th century and the other from the year 1498. The latter was probably acquired in 1792 for the furnishing of the new chapel for 90 RTlr. The bell founder Clais, who came from Ehnen, municipality of Wormeldingen in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, was a renowned master of his time.
The former house of prayer is now considered a cultural monument of the district.
