Wooden figure on the mining path of the dream loop Murscher Eselsche Jupp, the carved miner, reminds of the miners who walked down from Morshausen to their daily work in the Theresia mine 150 years ago. They walked along the Gruwepeadsche (mining path). Since the work underground was already strenuous enough, these paths were always laid out on the shortest and easiest route, avoiding unnecessary inclines. In planning the dream loop Murscher Eselsche, the path was the goal. Great emphasis was placed on beautiful views and impressive rocks. Therefore, the current path is not completely identical to the historical mining path, but large parts of the route, partly unchanged, have been integrated. You walk along the upper and middle shafts, both of which are collapsed, until you reach the spoil heap in front of the lower shaft. This shaft was uncovered in collaboration with NABU and fitted with a new bat grid. There you will get an impression of the earthworks and further information about ore mining in the Theresia mine. The typical Hunsrück first name Jupp (Josef) was given to him by the helpers when setting up the figure. The wooden figure was carved by Stefan Seidl from Boppard.
