Chapel of St. Heribert - Mermicherhof

A wealthy mayor of Halsenbach named Surges had the chapel built in memory of his son Heribert, who died of tuberculosis at the age of 26.
The windows depict the patron saint of the son and St. Sophia, the patron saint of the mayor's wife and the landowner and builder.
The chapel was built in 1930 through personal effort and with the support of the company Monnerjahn.
It is the only chapel in the Diocese of Trier dedicated to St. Heribert.
