St. Hildegard Church

The local community of Emmelshausen was 13 years old when a wooden barrack was converted into an emergency church. Here, the then pastor Wilhelm Schlegelmilch gathered the still small congregation for regular services. When the vicariate of Emmelshausen was officially established on October 18, 1948, the surrounding communities of Schwall, Basselscheid, and Liesenfeld also joined, and in 1950, the Church of St. Hildegard was built. Today, it is the Catholic parish community of Vorderhunsrück.
