In 1427, the knight Boos von Waldeck founded the late Gothic building. The chapel was the seat of the order's establishment of the Johanniter Order and served, among other things, as a milk chamber and house of worship. It was renovated from 1998 to 2003 and has since been a 'house of encounter' for the Catholic pastoral care unit of Bad Sobernheim-Meisenheim.
