Matthias Church

The Protestant parish church of St. Matthias is a listed church building in Bad...

One of the outstanding late Gothic churches in the entire Middle Near East. Built on the orders of Archbishop Willigis of Mainz. Impressive are the preserved Romanesque north tower, the massive west tower, the late Gothic hall church with its four bays and the three-sided choir. The Stumm organ and the modern tracery windows by Georg Meistermann are worth seeing.
