The cycling tour begins at the Nahe spring in Selbach near Nohfelden at Lake Bostalsee. The route leads in several loops, sometimes away from the Nahe and with a short but steep ascent to Idar-Oberstein. A visit to the German Gemstone Museum is worthwhile here. This section is 50 km long and suitable for sporty cyclists.
From Idar-Oberstein, the path leads past Kirn with the Kyrburg and the beautiful marketplace. Further into the Felkestadt Bad Sobernheim, which can impress with its open-air museum and barefoot path. The cycle path runs through the well-known wine-growing region of Nahe. This section is 32 km long and suitable for a leisurely tour with the whole family.
This also applies to the last 46 km long section. Once the short ascent to the former wine-growing domain of Niederhausen is conquered, cyclists are rewarded with a breathtaking view of the Nahe Valley. Now, it goes along a former railway line past the highest rock face north of the Alps, the Rotenfels, until reaching Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg. Before Bad Kreuznach, known for its historic bridge houses, the spa house, and the thermal bath, you will then see the Salinental with its 1.1 km long graduation towers, the largest open-air inhalatorium in Europe.
You can then leisurely ride the remaining distance through the flat Nahe landscape to the mouth of the Nahe in Bingen on the Rhine.
