On the move for 300 years - the Nahe Ferry
The shortest connection between the Kurpark Bad Münster am Stein and the Huttental with ascent to the Rheingrafenstein is the Nahe Ferry. It was installed 300 years ago, initially to transport materials, such as wood, from one side of the Nahe to the other. Today, it serves passenger transport and is the only hand-pulled ferry in Rhineland-Palatinate. The ferryman pulls the boat across the shallow waters of the Nahe using a wire rope. Guests on the ferry enjoy a magnificent view of the Rheingrafenstein rock, where the remains of the castle ruins from the 12th century cling like a swallow's nest. The ferryman receives a small fee and entertains the audience with many anecdotes. Thus, the ferry is not just a means of transport, but each trip conveys culture and history.
Boat Rental
Between the Nahe weir at the campsite and the Captain Lorenz shore, one can particularly enjoy the romantic landscape during a boat tour. Whether classic with a rowing boat or with a pedal boat - fun for young and old. Boats can be rented directly at the ferry landing.
