National Park - Cycling Route

Well-marked circular route around the national park. The majority of the paths are through fields and forests, although there are still some rough gravel sections to overcome. 

Beautiful circular route around the entire Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park. The tour leads to all national park gates (some not directly on the route, but the access paths are well marked), through quiet forest passages and stream valleys, and repeatedly up to the Hunsrück heights with their great views. At several points, there is the possibility to leave the circular route and shorten the tour through designated crossings in the national park. It should be noted that the crossings are sometimes significantly steeper than the actual circular tour, and the path surface can also be more difficult to ride on.

At many points along the tour, the entry is easily accessible, the tour is integrated into the cycling network, and for all those arriving by car, there are numerous free parking spaces near the route (509 m)

Route Description

The recorded track starts in Sensweiler and leads clockwise around the national park. This is purely coincidental and does not represent a recommendation; everyone will reach the route from different directions and can start anywhere. Those arriving by car and bringing their bike can, for example, come to the Hunsrückhaus at Erbeskopf and park there, or alternatively at the Celtic Ring Wall in Otzenhausen or at the Water Knowledge Center in Katzenloch (Kempfeld).
