Parish Church "St. Philippus and Jakobus" in Mittelstrimmig

Parish Church "St. Philippus and Jakobus" The oldest church building dates back to before 1220. It is...

The parish church has a valuable interior for a rural church, which suggests generous benefactors and the economic welfare of the community in the 18th century. The artists and craftsmen involved in the redesign mostly came from the vicinity of the electoral court in Koblenz or were significantly influenced by them. This also results in the high quality of the executed works. Particularly noteworthy are both side altars with the altar paintings by the Koblenz Baroque painter Januarius Zick: "Adoration of the Shepherds" and "Crucifixion". The church features an original preserved organ loft from the organ builder family Senf.
Since September 2011, it has been one of the 10 parishes in the parish community "Zeller Hamm".
