Spanning approximately 200 km, the Rhine Castles Trail leads through a unique cultural landscape from the Rolandseck near Remagen to the Mouse Tower near Bingen. Along the way, one experiences the Rhenish slate mountains in numerous facets, passes through the Ahr Valley, one of the northernmost wine-growing regions in Germany, and can admire the world's largest cold-water geyser in Andernach. From here, it continues to Koblenz, the gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley. The Rhine Castles Trail accompanies the entire World Heritage Valley and leads the hiker, on one of the most beautiful hiking trails in Germany, along the left bank of the Rhine to Bingen.
