Roman Tower

On a reconstructed section of the Roman road, extending to a short piece of the uncovered original road from the 1st century AD, attentive observers can follow Roman traces. Above this section of the old Roman road, one eventually encounters the impressive reconstruction of a Roman watchtower, which was erected in 1985. The nine-meter-high replica can be climbed via two wooden ladders inside the tower. Once at the top, the wooden walkway offers a fantastic panoramic view over Dill with its distinctive castle ruins and the expansive hilly landscape of the beautiful Hunsrück. In front of the Roman Tower, a seating area is available, inviting visitors to take a cozy break.
