The individual gradierwerke are between 70 and 350 meters long and 9 meters high, embedded in a rocky valley, where thermal healing water cascades down from a 500-meter-deep source, creating a fresh sea breeze with an evaporation area of 16,000 square meters in the Salinental.
From 1732 to 1998, salt was produced for baths and food using these salt waterfalls.
