Kyrburg
The Kyrburg, built around the year 960 by the Count Emicho, is a prominent landmark of the town of Kirn. After a history marked by various occupations, the Kyrburg was destroyed by the French in 1734. In 1765, the surviving hay magazine was converted into a guardhouse, which now houses a restaurant. From the associated terrace, one can enjoy a magnificent view over Kirn and the Nahe Valley. A whisky museum is located in a deep cellar beneath the building. The elaborately restored castle complex offers an impressive view over Kirn and the Nahe Valley from a high vantage point, extending to the southern heights of the Hunsrück. During the summer months, a restored vault is used as a wedding room for marriages.

Steinkallenfels
The ruins of Steinkallenfels are remnants of three fortified castles built on steep rocks, which were blown up by French occupation troops in the 17th century. The "Black Wall" on the south side of the middle rock presents a special challenge for climbers. On the lowest castle rock, there is the Stock im Hahne, a viewpoint accessible by stairs.

Castle Wartenstein
The origin of the castle was the construction of a fortification called "Wartel," which gave the complex its name. The knight Tilmann von (Stein)Kallenfels built this fortification around 1350 and sold it to the Electorate of Trier. In 1359, he received it back as a fief from Trier. In the late Middle Ages, Wartenstein became a co-ownership castle, but also a trading object for wealthy members of the ecclesiastical and secular nobility. In the second half of the 15th century, the castle was expanded to its full size. Towards the end of the 16th century (1583), the castle and the district of Wartenstein came as a fief to the family von Warsberg. The castle and the associated lands are still owned by the descendants of the baronial house von Warsberg. Castle Wartenstein is an ideal destination for excursions as well as an information center of the Soonwald-Nahe Nature Park with the experience world "Forest and Nature."
