Town Hall in Kirn

Town Hall, Kirchstraße 3 The east wing of the current town hall was built as early as 1752. The Baroque building was constructed as a Piarist college (monastic school or boarding school) by the master builder Thomas Petri on behalf of Prince Johann Dominik. In 1758, the west wing with the grand portal and central projection followed, on which the princely coat of arms has been hanging again since 2005. The connecting building with the current meeting room – the former monastery chapel – was built as the last part of the monastery complex. The former college has only been used as a town hall since 1938. On the outer wall of the building, there is a marking indicating the water level during the flood of 1875.
