Viewing tower at a height of 18 meters

The Soonwald border communities of Ellern and Rheinböllen are dominated to the south by the Hochsteinchen, the second highest peak of the Soonwald at 648 meters. The steel skeleton resembles a mining tower and stands on an open area of the ridge. A spiral staircase takes hikers up 89 steps to a height of 18 meters, offering a very beautiful panoramic view over the villages.
