Center at the Park – The ZAP is a vibrant hub of the city
Just before eight in the evening. The audience streams past the roundabout into the Center at the Park. The box office is closed. A large sign reads: “Performance sold out!”. For most visitors, this is a familiar sight. In the foyer, old acquaintances meet. A little off to the side, the satisfied host observes. He knows: It’s hard work to fill the house.
The beauty of it is that many guests belong to the regular audience. This is a testament to a well-executed program design. One of the guests puts it this way: “The ZAP actually offers something for everyone! No matter if young or old. The healthy mix of cabaret, theater, and music makes it!”
Since the first performance took place at the ZAP in the summer of 1993, a lot has happened. Personalities from art and culture come and go. Most even come more than once. “We keep receiving feedback that the artists really enjoyed their time at the ZAP, either personally or later through management. When artists, for whom we have fought hard, say after their agency's first appointment: ‘I will definitely go back there,’ it makes us very happy and confirms our work,” says Thomas Biersch, head of the ZAP in Emmelshausen.
No wonder that the Cultural Circle Region Emmelshausen e.V. has also been able to develop so well. From zero to a thousand members in just over three years. This is a testament to the consistent quality and professionalism of the ZAP … and to the benefits the association offers (e.g., 10% discount on ticket prices, no pre-sale fee, right of first refusal). The Cultural Circle Region Emmelshausen e.V. is the largest cultural association in the Rhein-Hunsrück district and, with more than 2500 members, certainly one of the largest in Rhineland-Palatinate. The Cultural Circle conducts about 50 events a year.
In addition to the Center at the Park, the “Old Train Station,” the oldest building in the young town of Emmelshausen, serves as another venue. There, the “small artists” from the region perform.
But the ZAP is also an ideal location for meetings and conferences. Equipped with the latest technology, conferences, seminars, or symposia can be held here effectively. The venue accommodates up to 550 visitors. Several hundred parking spaces are available, all free of charge. An attached restaurant takes care of the culinary well-being. In summer, the large beer garden in the nearby park invites you to linger.
And for those who want to attend an event at the ZAP and also enjoy the region “right at the front in Hunsrück,” they can find out about the tourist highlights of the Vorderhunsrück in the Rhine-Moselle Triangle.
