During a break at the biotope or the former ore mining pit, we experience unique moments in harmony with nature. The natural monument 'Old Oak' and the view of the Soonwald also provide a very special atmosphere.

Directions

Those arriving by car should follow the signs in the local community that lead to the recreational area at Bachweg. There are parking spaces on the left side.

The tour starts over a small Geierlay, which can also be bypassed, and initially leads through a part of the recreational area. After a meadow section above the recreational area, we enter the forest via a bridge. We follow the signs and enjoy the pleasant freshness that the forest offers. A few hundred meters further, we reach the biotope on the left side. Here, there is an opportunity to listen to and observe nature.

We continue along an idyllic forest path that leads through a dreamy forest section over a wooden walkway. We follow the path until the next signpost. From here, we can either go right up the steps onto an adventurous path or shorten the tour by going straight ahead.

We follow the narrow path through the forest until we cross a paved forest path. On the opposite side, we continue over a small bridge onto a meadow path, which leads us back into the forest. After a few hundred meters, we arrive at a former ore pit. Iron ore was mined here in the past. The pit is still clearly recognizable. A cozy seating area invites us to linger and take a small break.

We continue along a paved forest path until we reach the intersection at the red shelter. This is also a great spot for a short break.

Right behind the red hut, we enter deeper into the forest via a narrow path. We pass through a shady forest section and, after a few minutes, arrive at an impressive natural monument, the Old Oak. Here, we like to pause for a moment and let the impressions sink in.

Afterward, we continue along the path through the forest until we leave the forest over a small bridge and reach a peaceful meadow section. Between fields and meadows, we soon reach a reclining bench from where, in good visibility conditions, one can enjoy a wonderful view of the Soonwald.

The path continues gently downhill to the left, back to the starting and ending point at the recreational area. For families with children, the large playground with numerous play equipment offers a nice conclusion to the tour.

Safety notice

The "Traumschleifchen" has some slippery sections in rainy or winter weather. Sure-footedness and good physical condition are essential prerequisites for hiking the premium walking trail.
