It all started more than 30 years ago with the Hochwald Potato Days in Kell am See, which have now become the Saar-Hunsrück Potato Days. Every year in October, the potato, which was often mocked as a poor man's food, takes center stage in culinary attention. Since the two-week event expanded from Hochwald to the entire region around the Saar-Hunsrück Trail in 2015, more and more businesses and guests are indulging in the culinary delights surrounding the potato. The creativity of our chefs in preparing this staple food during the Potato Days is impressive.
The Saar-Hunsrück Potato Days are complemented by a series of culinary or regional events organized by restaurants, towns, communities, or associations.
