The course offers you the opportunity to gain and deepen your first experiences in stone sculpture. Piece by piece, you free the form from the stone. This includes both the handling of tools and techniques for shaping. The goal is to discover joy in your own creativity and to get to know the possibilities of plastic expression in stone.
Date: Saturday, August 22 – Sunday, August 23.
Program:
Saturday 10 AM – 4 PM: Idea generation, design and concretization of your own idea, setting up the workspace; introduction to processing techniques; working on your own sculpture.
Sunday 10 AM – 3 PM: Working on your own sculpture; presentation.
Please wear sturdy shoes and warm clothing during the course. Bring safety glasses, a hand broom, pencil, and paper. We will use sandstone from the region for processing, which can be purchased from the course instructor for €30 - 40. You are also welcome to bring your own stone to the course.
