The Sundays Mill or Ströders Mill
The path from the Schultheißermühle to the Sundays Mill, which is located in the district of Bickenbach, is not far. It is a large estate with several renovated half-timbered buildings and an extensive area of well-maintained meadows and a fish pond. The mill has been documented in accounting records of the Kurtrier office in Boppard as early as 1575. In 1768, Nikolaus Sonntag took over the mill, after which it was named. In 1826, Jakob Ströder moved into the mill, and it was also called Strödersmühle after him.
In more recent times, a nature-loving family has lovingly, knowledgeably, and diligently established a generous residence in the Sundays Mill.
Below this mill, we reach the well-developed connecting path Bickenbach - Gondershausen with a solid stone bridge over the stream. However, a barrier prevents this path from becoming a heavily trafficked thoroughfare, which would significantly restrict the peace and quiet of the valley. It can only be used as access roads from both locations, and parking spaces have been created for this purpose.
